What are the Ongoing Costs of having a website?

Hosting

Every website is “hosted” or operated on a server somewhere; this allows people to view the website. Normally you would pay monthly or annually upfront for this service.

Domain Name Renewal Fee

This is a fee to the national (and international) domain register—a domain name is the website address (i.e. www.you.co.nz) - there is an initial cost and a ongoing annual cost to have the website address.

Updates and Changes

Once the website is created; generally you must pay the designer for any updates and changes. An alternative is a different construction method of the website so you can make alterations; however this is initially and often substantially more expensive (except for WebBasic).

Email Accounts

These are normally included with a hosting service, the email address is attached to the website name (i.e.john@you.co.nz) - depending on the hosting agreement you may only get one address and additional will cost more.

With Mustang Services Standard Website Packages these items are ALL included.
